First Week of Full of Potatoes, shed 5lbs!

I didn't realize how dependent on food I was, especially on an emotional level. How much comfort and happiness I received by eating the foods I like. What emotions or feelings have I been comforting with food, instead of food just being fuel when you're physically hungry. Until I began this potato diet I thought I ate pretty healthy, but after losing 5lbs in the first week of only eating potatoes I know it wasn't as healthy as I thought. You wouldn't believe the amount of oil in prepared or processed food! Having to cook my owl meals oil free has given me a huge perspective on how much oil I was eating on a daily basis. No oil is good for you, the body doesn't need it. The body needs a small amount of healthy fats from whole plant based food, such as avocados and nuts. omg avocados, I miss avocados lol.

Day 2, I had a mild headache.

Day 3 I felt awful, kinda woozy, I could feel my body detoxing. However I didn't feel puffy, bloated or inflamed. I'm excited to see if my autoimmune issues will disappear. It was so hard to see Shal eating nachos! I just wanted to reach across the table and snatch some of it up! Little scary how attached to food we get.

Day 4, I think the potato diet works because it doesn't restrict calories, you eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. You don't feel hungry or deprived, at least not physically. Any depravation is all in your/my head. It's cravings you have to deal with, that enjoyment you rely on from food, like a drug.

Day 5, I FEEL AMAZING! Physically, mentally and emotionally I feel fantastic today! Today was an easy day, it feels like I could do this for 30 days no problem!

Day 6, Today I was sick of freakin potatoes! lol Really craving guacamole! I had the munchies bad after 10pm. It took everything I had not to get into Shal's Doritos! I just told myself it will only make you happy for two seconds and then you'll be pissed off at yourself, don't do it. I'm proud of myself for not giving in!

Day 7, Mostly the same as yesterday, still had the munchies at 10pm but it's all in my head and just unhealthy food cravings. It helps to stay on course because I lost 5lbs!!! WOOHOOOOOO!!!! It's fantastic to see results so quickly! I felt slimmer and lighter, so I jumped on the scale and bam!

This is mashed potatoes with onion gravy made with onions, tamari, garlic, veggie broth and cornstarch. NO OIL! The mashed potatoes only have a little soy milk in them for mashing.
